Weekly Training Sessions

The SLAPRayz training sessions will be regularly scheduled and reoccurring. This will allow families to get in a rhythm and provide the athletes with a constant environment for improvement.

Certified Coaches

The SLAP Coaches are all USA Triathlon Certified Youth & Junior Coaches with years of experience working with athletes. We maintain our CPR/First Aid as well. Our professionalism and knowledge sets us apart from the rest!

Camps & Races

We will offer multiple opportunities during the year for the youth athletes to learn from other professionals in the area at 1/2 day and multi-day camps. The SLAP Coaches will also support our athletes at local youth events during the season.

Multiple Locations

The SLAP Youth & Junior team is located all over Central Florida! We've got training sessions in Brevard, Orlando, Celebration & Clermont. Click on the calendar of training sessions to find your closest group!

Monthly Training Fees

We will be offering 2-3 sessions each week in 4 major locations across Central Florida: Brevard, Orlando, Celebration & Clermont. There will be at least one SLAP Coach present at each training session.

Currently, only the Celebration Swim Practices are on the SLAP Youth team calendar. Stay tuned for the full list of training sessions.

Current USAT Membership Required

Every child must have a current USA Triathlon Youth Annual Membership before participating in any SLAP Youth & Junior team training sessions. This $10 annual fee provides your child and our team with insurance. This membership is also required for participation in any race or camp during the season.

The SLAP Tri Team is now powered by Winter Garden Wheel Works! Find bikes and helmets for kids of all sizes. Make sure to check out the 2019 SLAP Tri Team apparel...we've made sure to stock up on youth sizes so the kids can match and be easily seen!

Schedule a Try-Out Session

We welcome beginners ---> experienced triathletes at all the training sessions. However, we highly suggest that you meet up with a SLAP Coach 15-20 minutes before the first session. This will allow us to conduct a simple assessment of your athlete as well as answering any questions that you might have.

There are so many benefits for children to be involved with the sport of triathlon...have fun, make friends, healthy exercise, no specialization, build confidence, and so much more!

We like to make it a family affair too...many of our parents are involved in triathlon as well as volunteering with the SLAP Youth & Junior Tri Team.

Coaching is an art and a science. It’s about seeing potential in someone and being able to teach and push them just the right amount. It’s about knowing an athlete’s weaknesses and strengths and developing that athlete to their potential. We aim to provide an organized culture that is positive and high performing.
Some of the key elements of a successful youth team is: positive energy, support, motivation, life-lessons, creativity, and FUN.
The SLAP Youth & Junior Tri Team will have multiple levels based on age, ability and competitive vs. non competitive. There will be a place for everyone.
